In the first 10 months of this year, 5,496 people died and 6,973 were injured in 9,826 traffic accidents across the country, as reported by the National Traffic Safety Committee.


In comparison to the corresponding period last year, there was a noticeable surge in accidents by 5.11%. Additionally, the number of fatalities witnessed a rise of 2.65%, whereas the count of injured individuals increased significantly by 12.54%.

During this specified time frame, a staggering total of 9,713 road accidents resulted in the unfortunate loss of 5,415 lives and caused injury to 6,944 individuals.

In a series of unfortunate incidents, a total of 63 individuals lost their lives while 22 others sustained injuries in a staggering count of 84 railway accidents.

In a series of unfortunate events, there were a total of 24 incidents on waterways resulting in the loss of 16 lives and causing injuries to seven individuals. Additionally, five maritime accidents unfortunately led to the deaths of two individuals.

During the month of October, a total of 1,491 traffic accidents occurred resulting in the unfortunate loss of 731 lives and causing injuries to 1,171 individuals.
