The announcement was delivered during an event on Saturday as a part of the 2023 Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition (VIIE 2023), organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment from October 28th to November 1st.
The National Innovation Center (NIC) is sponsoring the scholarships that will be offered as part of Google Career Certificates program in Vietnam. This program, initiated by Google and set to launch in 2022, aims to provide valuable career-oriented education to individuals. As a non-profit project, it offers an opportunity for Vietnamese students to benefit from these scholarships.
This program is one of several initiatives undertaken by Google to bolster the digital skills and expertise of the Vietnamese workforce.
Upon successful completion of each course, learners are awarded professional certifications from Google in a range of fields such as IT support, data analytics, project management, digital marketing & e-commerce, and user experience design. These certifications hold global recognition and are obtained through the esteemed online learning platform, www.coursera.org.
The program will provide a total of eight courses, consisting of five courses that were introduced in the 2022-2023 phase and three new courses namely cybersecurity, advanced data analytics, and business intelligence. These courses will be accessible without any charges until December 31, 2024.
The program has made remarkable strides in bridging the digital divide in Vietnam, offering 20,000 students valuable learning and growth prospects. Furthermore, it has successfully collaborated with VietnamWorks and TopCV to establish a strong network of over 100 recruitment partners.
