On Friday, the authorities of District 11 seized the tricycle belonging to Van Nguyen*, a 57-year-old man. The tricycle was confiscated due to multiple violations committed by Van Nguyen on the Tan Hoa Canal-Lo Gom road section.

On October 28, a team of police officers led by major Nguyen Thanh Trung and senior lieutenant Le Chau Thanh Huy undertook a patrol in District 11 to enforce traffic regulations. During their patrol, they encountered Nguyen's tricycle, which was overloaded with goods, prompting them to halt the vehicle for inspection.

Nguyen received a notification from the police stating that his vehicle contained an excessive amount of goods, and he was also found to be lacking proper driving licenses and vehicle registration. Despite attempting to convince the officers to turn a blind eye to these infractions, Nguyen's efforts were in vain. Frustrated by the situation, he resorted to an unconventional approach - leaping into the Tan Hoa Canal, both as a means to avoid facing the consequences of the violations and as a form of protest against the officers.

After seeking assistance from a local resident, Huy managed to bring someone down the canal who used ropes to successfully rescue Nguyen from the water. Later, both Nguyen and his tricycle were transported to a police station in District 11 for additional interrogation.

The police later called Nguyen and his wife in for questioning, during which Nguyen openly confessed to his transgressions.
