According to a statement by Ho Tan Minh, spokesperson of the city's Department of Education and Training, all students from various grades will commence their Tet holidays on February 5th and recommence their classes on the 19th, which falls on the 10th day of the lunar month. This information was reported by Suc Khoe & Doi Song newspaper.
The dates of February 3rd and 4th happen to occur on a weekend.
Last month, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs submitted a proposal to the government regarding public holidays. The proposal presented two alternative options, both suggesting a seven-day break. The first option involves starting the break one day prior to Tet, while the second option suggests beginning the break two days ahead. It is important to note that the Lunar New Year is scheduled for February 10th.
The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism have collectively decided to initiate the holiday season two days in advance of the lunar year, specifically on February 8th.
