In the early hours of the morning, precisely at 2:10 a.m., an unfortunate incident occurred involving Quach Dinh Trong, a 57-year-old driver responsible for transporting passengers in a 16-seat bus. While navigating along National Highway 1A, tragedy struck as the bus collided with a tow truck operated by Nguyen Van Tuan, a 28-year-old individual, within Lang Son's Huu Lung District. The bus was carrying a total of 16 individuals at the time of the accident.
The tow truck was positioned on the identical side of the road that the bus was traveling along.
After the first collision, the bus subsequently rammed into a different tow truck driven in the opposite direction by a 27-year-old individual named Nguyen Thanh Bao.
The accident resulted in the immediate deaths of four individuals on the bus, with an additional fatality occurring at a medical facility. Four others who sustained injuries were transported to the Huu Lung District medical center, one of whom was severely hurt. Furthermore, seven individuals were admitted to the Chi Lang District medical center for observation and monitoring.
According to the traffic police department, the bus was moving along a steep road section that lacked street lights. They suggested that the lack of visibility may have led to the bus colliding with a parked vehicle. Notably, the parked vehicle had positioned a warning object approximately 16 meters ahead of it.
Through an on-site testing process, it was determined that none of the three drivers involved in the accident had any traces of alcohol or drugs in their systems.
