On Friday, Le Duong, aged 33, was apprehended by authorities in Dong Nai Province, adjacent to HCMC, for permitting an unlicensed individual to drive a vehicle on public roads. Notably, Duong is the offspring of 64-year-old Le Duc Thanh, who holds the position of director at Thanh Buoi.
On Friday noon, Thanh Buoi headquarters on Le Hong Phong Street in District 5, HCMC, was closely examined by numerous police officers.
In the past, Hoang Van Tinh, a 37-year-old driver who was involved in a tragic accident resulting in the loss of five lives in Dong Nai, had also been apprehended for violations related to road traffic.
According to officials, on September 30th, Duong gave his approval for Tinh to operate the sleeper bus journeying from HCMC to Da Lat. It should be noted that Tinh's license had been previously revoked by the Lam Dong Province police on August 5th due to speeding violations.
On September 30, in the early hours of around 2:30 a.m., an unfortunate incident occurred when Tinh's sleeper bus collided with a smaller 16-seat bus. Tragically, this collision resulted in the loss of five lives and caused injuries to four individuals.
On November 3, the HCMC Department of Transport imposed a fine of VND91 million ($3,743) on Thanh Buoi and also revoked its license for a duration of three months.
